Tell Me More…
Artemisia schmidtiana ‘Silver Mound’ is a popular, compact, semi-evergreen perennial which holds its foliage from February to November each year. Delicate hues add serenity and grace to your garden and plants are suitable for beds, containers, rock gardens and for strategic planting in and over walls. From July to August small yellow flowers may appear to add further interest but it is the shimmering foliage which is the main attraction. Leaves are also aromatic, with a subtle sage-like fragrance which is released when plants are brushed past or pressed, making them ideal for path edges too. Artemisia schmidtiana ‘Silver Mound’ prefers a spot in full sun with well-drained soil of any type. Drought tolerant once established, plants mature to a height of 25cm and spread to 40cm. A hardy perennial which should not need additional protection over winter throughout most of the UK.
