Description
The ‘Black Tower’ is aptly named due to its upright and slender habit and unusual trait of its leaves forming right from the base of the plant. The leaves are large, finely serrated at the edges and dark purple-black in colour when mature. This plant needs a sunny position to ensure that the fresh green leaves can develop their darker colouring. In summer, flattened heads of pink scented flowers appear and these are attractive to wildlife. The flowers later become small black berries which are popular with the birds. This is a great choice for planting at the back of a mixed border and it will be sure to add colour and structure to your garden.
