An outstanding specimen plant for the partially shaded garden. Looking much like a very large white astilbe, Goat’s Beard has similar foliage and feathery, creamy white flower plumes up to 1 ft. long. This herbaceous perennial can easily take the place of a shrub in the garden; it will grow about the same size and have the same shape as a dwarf Viburnum. Use it as a specimen plant in the center of an island bed or at the back of the border. Though Aruncus tends to be a slow-gower the first couple of seasons, once it is established it puts on a fabulous show year after year. Goat’s Beard grows best in moist, humus-rich soils. Insects and diseases don’t seem to bother this plant. Supplied in approx 2 litre containers.
