The king of hedging! It’s native, evergreen, dense, slow growing (so easy maintenance) and good in shade.
English Yew’ is very versatile as it can form an excellent large shrub, small tree or dense hedge which can be controlled at many different heights and has the ability to regenerate from old wood if it gets out of control or a smaller hedge is preferred.
Growing Information
Grow Yew trees in any well drained, fertile soil. Taxus is versatile and will happily grow on acid or alkaline soils. It will grow thrive in almost any position from full sun to deep shade.
