Camellia sasanqua Versicolor is an unassuming yet defined, Versicolor offers bi-coloured apple blossom-like blooms in white and pink hues. Up close, you will smell a refreshing fragrance of cut apples and orange blossom. Reliable and consistent, it flowers from September to November and should be pruned in late spring to avoid frost damage to any last-minute developing new growth. Versicolor’s bigger growth makes it an excellent specimen for a hedge. Like most camellia, Camellia sasanqua Versicolor prefers to be grown in reliably moist, acid soil in light shade, a slightly sheltered spot would help to protect the buds from damage by cold winds. Camellia sasanqua Versicolor reaches a mature height of 3m, spreading to 1.5m and is fully hardy in most of the UK to -10 C.
