- Tigerella is a cordon variety–grows to 1.5m, support and prune for maximum yield As cordon varieties grow so tall, they will need to be supported to grow up vertically. You can use a stake or train up a structure as long as it is tall enough for the plant. Prune away the ‘suckers’, or stems that grow in between the ‘armpit’ of the main stem and the side leaf stems. The idea is to train one strong main stem up from which all the fruit will grow.MORE
