Well known, very early blooming, and flowers freely, in a range of bright colours. Superbly colourful, easily grown plants that are a must for a sunny border. Flowers June-September. HHA – Half hardy annual. Height 65cm (26″).
Marigolds are easy to grow and will flower right through the summer. Try growing with a colour ‘foil’ like blue ageratum or silver cineraria.

Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at around 15-20°C using a good quality, moist compost. Cover with 6mm (½”) of compost. Germination 5-14 days. Transplant seedlings, spacing out 5cm (2″) apart in trays and grow on. Acclimatise plants before planting out 30cm (12″) apart in a sunny position. Alternatively, sow directly outside in April-May into moist, weed-free soil.
