Acer negundo ‘Flamingo’ is a lovely tree that is planted for its brilliant leaves and is a fast-growing kind of maple. It can be planted in a smaller garden due to its naturally small size for a tree of this type, but maintenance will be required. Alternatively, it can be kept trimmed back frequently and grown as a large shrub. Either way, it will be a delight in your garden! In the spring, leaves have a distinct pink tint, and as they grow, they turn a regular green colour with an interesting white or pale pink variegation! Height: 12m (39′). Spread: 8m (26′).
Growing Information
Grow Acer negundo trees in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It is quite important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves.
