Description
Catalpa bignonioides is a handsome, spreading tree which grows quickly with beautiful heart-shaped leaves that are held horizontally. The short panicles of creamy flowers in July and August are bell-shaped with frilly edges and are sometimes likened to foxgloves. After flowering, it produces very long slender black pods that hang on the tree for months.
