Verbena hastata ‘Blue Spires’ is a striking species and is one of the showiest of the sturdy verbenas. Its tall stems make excellent cut flowers and are best placed near the back of the border, where they create a lovely focal point. Verbena hastata ‘Blue Spires’ works well in cottage garden schemes and pairs well with tall grasses in prairie borders. It will return year after year if you provide it with a safe haven. Throughout the summer, upturned branching stems yield candelabras of tiny blue flowers. Height: 120cm (48″). Spread: 45cm (18″).

Plant Verbena outdoors in a sheltered position in any moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi shade.
