Ruffled deep plum poppies!
The papaver ‘Manhattan’ is a beautiful ruffled petal deep plum papaver with contrasting black blotches. Producing large double flowers on strong stems, the Manhattan papaver is a native to Turkey and Iran now popular additions to perennial flower displays. Flowers late May-July. Height 60-70cm; spread 40-50cm. Grade 1 root.
Growing Information
When growing Oriental Poppies, choose a sunny position in rich fertile, well drained soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply.
