Sow indoors January to March, thinly in pots or trays of seed compost and cover lightly with vermiculite. Keep moist and warm in a propagator, approximately 15-20C (60-68F). Germination can be slow and erratic. When large enough transplant to further trays or pots of compost. Gradually harden off before planting out to final position after all chances of frost spacing 60cm (24in) apart. Alternatively, seeds can be sown August/September in small pots outside and planted out the following spring.
