A profusion of tasty, red-veined green leaves that can be picked from baby leaf stage through to mature plants. The fast-growing leaves are packed full of healthy antioxidants and fibre, and are ideal for salads or stir fries.
Growing Information
For baby leaves, sow thinly into finely raked, moist warm soil or in containers at a depth of 1.3cm (½”). Begin cutting 2-3 weeks after emergence leaving approximately 2.5cm (1″) of plant – to grow again. For mature plants, sow in blocks of approximately 30 x 30cm (12 x 12″), spacing a few seeds every 10cm (4″) and removing surplus seedlings. Alternatively sow in rows 30cm (12″) apart. Water freely in dry weather. Avoid sowing in mid-summer or the plants may run to seed. Sowing – Cropping: 3-6 weeks.
