The Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit winner, Apple “Worcester Pearmain,” is an early-season desert variety with a sweet flavour. It is ideal for eating fresh from the tree, but it is also a good variety for stewing. Crops can be harvested beginning in mid-September and stored until the end of October. This apple is also known for its beautiful blossoms in the spring, making it an attractive specimen for any garden.

Growing Information

Plant apple trees in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny position. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and drive the stake into the ground to support the tree. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake using a tree tie, and water well.
