Reaching a height of approximately 50–60 cm, this modest variety is ideal for smaller gardens or as part of a mixed border. Early to midsummer sees the dense spikes of pea-like flowers that provide a striking and dramatic display.
Perfect for planting in well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil, ‘Gallery Red’ grows well in full sun to partial shade. It works very well to provide vertical flair to perennial beds or to create the traditional cottage garden impression. Combine it with blue or yellow-blooming plants, such as delphiniums or coreopsis, to contrast with its blazing red blossoms.
