This attractive bushy shrub is perfect for adding some summer colour to your garden, with small purple flowers which give way to violet-purple and white coloured berries in the autumn – combined together the two varieties create a real novalty and unusual contrast. The leaves start off purplish when they are young, are fresh green through summer and mature into a rosy pink and butter-gold in the autumn before they fall to reveal the stems festooned in beautiful shiney berries.
This Callicarpa appreciates a nice sunny spot but will also grow in partially shaded positions or a woodland style setting too. It prefers a well-drained soil.
