Description
Koelreuteria paniculata is a small to medium-sized, deciduous tree with an upright, rounded habit. Its large pinnate leaves emerge in spring flushed with red, fade to mid green in summer, later turning red and yellow in the autumn. The elegant bright yellow flowers are borne in mid to late summer and are followed in late autumn by bladder-like seed pods. This tree if often known as ‘Pride of India ‘ which is a little strange as it is actually originates from China.
