Erysimum ‘Fire & Flame’ is just what you need to warm your spirits and awaken your senses after the cold, grey winter. Red to purple flames flash along the petals against a gold to creamy yellow background creating a fiery glow of flickering shades. The vivid flowers are held just above compact and bushy mounds of semi-evergreen foliage, making them perfect for adding pops of colour to the front of borders or containers.
Flowering from March, Erysimum ‘Fire & Flame’ will be one of the first flowers to brighten your garden, continuing to bloom for many weeks and coinciding with tulips.
Although Erysimum are short-lived perennials, they are so rewarding, tough, drought-resistant, undemanding and – in the end – easy to root from cuttings – one can hardly hold it against them! The nectar-rich flowers also attract beneficial pollinators and they make lovely bouquets. Height and spread: 50cm (20in).
Growing Information
Plant Wallflowers outdoors on free draining soil in full sun. Erysimum plants are tolerant of most neutral or alkaline soils and will even cope well on very poor soils.
