The Peony Mother’s Choice boasts luxurious, very double creamy white petals that gently swirl into a shallow dome, forming a perfectly shaped bloom that can reach up to 20cm in diameter. This mid to late-season variety is highly regarded for its large, fragrant flowers. Its robust stems make it an excellent choice for cutting, allowing you to enjoy the blooms in arrangements as well. The flowers are beautifully framed by deeply lobed, dark green leaves that provide a rich, verdant backdrop to their striking appearance. Herbaceous peonies are known for their enduring beauty, flourishing in your garden year after year with minimal effort. These late spring blooms will light up your garden with their dramatic, ruffled petals and rich colours. Plant them in the center of borders to add structure, elegance, and vibrancy, or enjoy them as cut flowers. Height: 90cm (35in) Spread: 50cm (20in) Culinary Tip: Add the petals to salads, or gently cook and sweeten them for a delightful treat. The blooms can also be used to make peony water, a once-celebrated delicacy, or floated in punches for an elegant touch.
Growing Information
Grow peonies in a sunny or semi shaded position. They prefer a well drained, rich fertile soil. This is best achieved by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or compost to the soil prior to planting, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Plant herbaceous peonies at a depth of around 5cm (2″) below the soil surface. Planting too deeply may delay flowering.
