Alternatively sow in a propagator indoors February-April, transfer seedlings into pots and grow on prior to planting out in May-June. Both leaves and flowers are aromatic. To dry thyme for winter use, tie and hang bundles in an airy shed or garage; when dry rub finely and store in airtight containers.
