Tell Me More…
Clematis Montana Silver Star is a new variety launched in 2023, bred specifically to be free flowering, easy to grow and quick to grow; perhaps the fastest growing of all the clematis Montana family. The colour of the flower is white with a silky/silvery sheen. The flowers are single, small, aromatic, and blanket the verdant foliage from May to June. Prefers to be grown in sun or part shade, planted in moist, fertile well-drained soil – ensure the soil does not become too wet, nor too dry. Reaches a mature un-pruned height of 8m and a spread of 3m. This is a Pruning Group 1 clematis which means prune to environment after flowering. If you wish to be one of the first in the UK to grow this clematis, then this is one for your garden. Montana varieties are rightly famed for their ease of growth and vigour. ‘Silver Star’ can be trained up vertical structures such as a wall, obelisk, fence, and pergolas, or be left to scramble through shrubs.
