Acer palmatum ‘Little Princess’ is a very pretty Japanese Maple variety, that has a compact and dense growth habit making it absolutely ideal for growing in patio pots and containers, allowing the evergreen, fiery toned foliage to remain in the foreground all year-round. Beautiful palmate leaves will transform from deep-red into green through summer, before turning into a fiery and warm orange-gold tone when autumn comes round. Makes for a great focal point in small gardens, balconies and terraces too. Height and spread: 1.5m (59″).
Growing Information
Pot up acer plants and grow them on in cool conditions until large enough to plant outside in their final positions. Grow Acer palmatum trees in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It is quite important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves. Alternatively grow the Japanese Maple in large containers, using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
